How do I place an order?

Once you have found a product you would like to purchase, select the size you need (if applicable) and click ‘Add to Bag’. You can access your shopping bag on the top right of the screen at any point and once you’re ready to place your order, click ‘View Shopping Bag' which will take you through our secure and easy checkout process.​

Do I need to create an account to shop online?

You do not need to create an account to shop online and can simply provide an email address to receive order updates. However, with an account you will be able to check out faster, view and track past orders and accumulate your points towards becoming our VIP member.

Can I order a gift for someone online?

Yes, at checkout you can select our complimentary gift wrapping service and add a personalised message card.

The item I want to purchase is out of stock. Can I get onto the waiting list?

How can I enjoy the VIP discount online?

We deliver online orders worldwide. You may select your shipping destination at checkout page.​

How will I know you’ve received my order?

Once you have placed your order, you will receive an order acknowledgement email signifying the start to our order verification and fulfilment process. Once we have successfully processed your order, you will receive another email to confirm your order has been shipped.

How much is delivery and how long does it take?

We offer free delivery for orders over HKD $2,800 / USD $415 / GBP £335 / AUD $590 / EUR €410 / SGD $570 / JPY ¥53,670. Delivery costs are calculated and added at checkout. For estimated delivery times and costs, please see our Delivery page here.​

Can I track my order?

You can track your order at My Orders. As well, a tracking link will be sent to your email.

How much tax and duties will I need to pay?

Depending on the shipping destination, VAT and Sales Taxes may need to be added. For deliveries to USA, Europe, UK and Singapore, Shanghai Tang will cover all tax and duty payments. Customers with orders shipping to other countries are liable to all import duties, customs and local sales taxes levied by the shipping destination to release the order from customs clearance on arrival. Please confirm with local authorities for the tax/duties imposed prior to placing an order as we are unable to advise the amount. 


Can I return an item?

We accept return requests within 14 days of receiving your order provided the items are sent back in unused and sellable condition (tags and labels still attached) together with the original packaging. Any return costs are absorbed by the customer.


Do you have a loyalty programme?

Yes, you can join by creating an account online or registering in- store. As a member of our loyalty programme, each purchase, online or at any one of our stores worldwide will go towards your cumulative points and reaching VIP status. For more information click here.

I’ve forgotten my account password, what should I do?

Simply click the 'Forgot your password' and an email will be sent to you to reset your password.

Can I update my account details?

Sign in to your account and under your account details you will be able to update your shipping and contact information for future orders.

Where can I find my accumulated points?

You can check your points balance in the My Account or by asking our Sales Associates in stores. For any further enquiries or help with our loyalty programme, please contact us at [email protected].

I couldn’t see my points earned after purchase. How long does it takes to have my points reflected?

It may take up to 48 hours to have your points earned reflected under your account. If you still couldn’t see it after 48 hours, please contact us at [email protected] and we will assist you accordingly.

Will I have a physical Membership card?

Our Membership card is issued in digital format at shanghaitang.com where our members or VIP could check their membership, status, points, transaction history, available offers etc.

Will my points earned be deducted if I return or refunded product(s)?

Your points earned is based on your total net spending and thus, all points earned from returned or refunded product (s) will be deducted.

Can I use my VIP annual discount privilege on top of Promotion or markdown item(s)?

VIP annual discount privilege is applicable to regular priced items only. It cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions or offers unless otherwise specified.

Can I return or exchange the rewards?

All rewards redeemed cannot be returned or exchanged for points, cash, store credit or cash voucher.

Will I be downgraded from VIP if I redeem the rewards with my points?

Redeeming the rewards with points will not affect your VIP status and privilege; you can still enjoy your VIP privilege.

How can I redeem my Birthday Offer?

Your Birthday offer is available throughout your birthday month. It can be redeemed during checkout by selecting “10% OFF Birthday Offer” under “Exclusive membership offer” at shopping bag page. Or simply redeem the offer at our stores. Each VIP can enjoy Birthday offer once during their birthday month.​
